The Holy Republic of Jamahirya is a nation that has undergone violent transition in the past 20 years. Up until 1913, the nation was a desert nation with few to little resources. This changed in 1913, when it discovered vast oil resources underneath its soil. With the onset of the Third Great War, the nation suddenly found itself as the holder of a strategic resource for its people.

In 1919, the Jamahiryan people overthrew the monarchy of their country, despite the role of foreign troops. The financial and military resources provided by petroleum has provided the resources to protect the nation during the border conflicts of 1920-1928. This also allowed them to have the financial and military resources to combat Mahabad nationalist rebels in 1926.

As of 1931, Hossein Qava proclaimed in a speech to the nation:
"Our long years of negotiations with foreign countries… have yielded no results this far. With the oil revenues we could meet our entire budget and combat poverty, disease, and backwardness among our people. Another important consideration is that by the elimination of the power of the foreign national companies, we would also eliminate corruption and intrigue, by means of which the internal affairs of our country have been influenced. Once this tutelage has ceased, Jamahirya will have achieved its economic and political independence. The Jamahiryan state prefers to take over the production of petroleum itself. The company should do nothing else but return its property to the rightful owners. The nationalization law provide that 25% of the net profits on oil be set aside to meet all the legitimate claims of the company for compensation… It has been asserted abroad that Jamahiryan people intend to expel the foreign oil experts from the country and then shut down oil installations. Not only is this allegation absurd; it is utter invention…”

Currently members of the religious class have called for a massive armament to defend against possible "foreign intervention" to seize their oil fields. Currently tanks and weapons are openly deployed to the major cities.

Local militias work to protect the oil fields as "Guardians of the Revolution".
