So, going by http://trooperworld.wdfiles.com/local--files/world-maps/Troopermapcountries.png , there seems to be a large stretch of land north of Knollen and Thorrlundt that nobody seems to be using.

Would it be okay if I situated a country there, or is somebody else using it for something?

well, that's like the north pole. Your country won't develop much due to extreme weather. Unless it's a community of scientists, sure.
You could use parts to the southwest of Knollen, though.

I certainly don't have any objections. What kind of country were you thinking of? I just want to make sure that I am not creating any contradictory historical data…

Think "vikings", but somewhat more sophisticated (steel factories, less rape and pillaging, still lots of fire).

It'll all be a lot clearer once I have the first draft up.

Sounds groovy!!! If anything, they sound like they would be violent rivals of the cultures of the Ziklag and/or the Django-Ito. Also consider that they might use the "Red Book" (a.k.a. Theory of Asset Realization) as a justification for their behavior. If anything, I hope these ideas help!!!
